14Chapter 01 · The dream
A promise to myself
I was 14 when I first saw what code could do. While most of my friends were thinking about exams and cricket, I was dreaming about building software. I made myself a promise: one day, I'll be one of the youngest software engineers in Sri Lanka. Many people said it was too early, too big, too hard. I kept the dream anyway.
15+Chapter 02 · Learning
One error at a time
I taught myself, one tutorial, one error and one small project at a time. Late nights, broken code and small wins. Then I joined the Professional Practice in Software Development programme by the University of Moratuwa (CODL) to learn how real software is built.
17Chapter 03 · 2022 – 2023
The exam that changed everything
Then came SLASSCOM Future Career Bridge, a national programme that connects young talent with Sri Lanka’s tech industry. I walked in nervous, and I walked out as one of the selected. I was placed 4th in Sri Lanka, and completed Bootcamp 03 in 2023. That result opened the door to my first job in the industry.

The dream comes true
At 18 years old, I joined KIK Lanka (Pvt) Ltd as a Trainee Software Engineer. The boy who dreamed at 14 was now writing real code for real products.
19Chapter 05 · 2024
Growing as an engineer
I was promoted to Associate Software Engineer. Today I build advanced 2D/3D electrical panel design software with Angular, GoJS and Three.js, including real-time collaboration where many users design together, live.
21Chapter 06 · 2023 – 2026
A degree, while working full time
While working, I completed my BSc in Software Engineering at Cardiff Metropolitan University and was named on the Honors List for academic excellence.

Building for real businesses
Through Codedge Technologies I've designed and built complete systems that businesses use every day: ERP systems for mills, HR and payroll, e-commerce and learning platforms. And this is just the beginning.
